The Glamorama is an event that Macy’s hosts to fundraise money for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
It’s Fashion and Fun in the name of Helping our Community
This year it was held at the State Theater in Downtown, Minneapolis. I was extremely excited to attend! Not only is there a wonderful display of this coming season of must have looks, but also entertainment by Summer Set, Cirque Du Soleil and (one of my favorites) Sheryl Crow.
The State Theater was packed!
It was so hard to find something to wear in my closet for an event this cool! This is what I came up with…
My Glam -
I found a parking spot Downtown as close as I could. There was a game and some other stuff going on down there. I parked 9 blocks away from the State Theater! I like walking (enough) that it wasn’t too big of a deal.
The ambassador, Yvonne is 12 years old and from St. Paul. She doesn’t let her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma slow her down, too much. She has a love for gymnastics and dance. During some of her treatments Yvonne could be found dancing away on her toes. This summer she is enrolled in a circus school! Yvonne is named after her Grandma and her smile lights up the whole room.
Yvonne the Heart and Soul of the Show -
The band Summer Set was featured as the iHeartRadio winners.
Girl Drummers Rock!
The guys who put in a ton of work, long hours and sweat…
Fashion Manager, Paul Anthony & Mike Gansmoe, VP of Special Productions
Lookin’ Fab!
I got to meet the Twin Cities Live Crew!!!!!!!
ps – sheryl crow was behind us…
Now, it was time to find our seats. Which you would think would be such an easy thing to do. However, a group of ladies were in mine. I got turned around and the show was just starting. Without fail my PR Super Hero came to save the day!
New Seat in the Front Row!!!
I have no idea how the people in Cirque Du Soleil can do the amazing things they perform on stage! It is outstanding to watch!

Sweetheart Yvonne was introduced to everyone -
Next up, the most dramatic fashion show of my life!

I love the Yellow gloves!
Jean Paul Gaultier – is a designer I am digging!
The models were all pampered by Spalon Montage and Lancome. In case you wanted to go get all done up for an upcoming date night. There are also great sales going on at Macy’s right now. I saw a 65% off rack just today!

More fashion statements that are guaranteed to turn heads -
Rachel Rachel Roy designs such stunning looks.
I would love to go to the school PTO meeting in this…
The music and introductions to the designs were emotionally moving. I found myself singing along to some of the background music and at times I also felt a tug within giving me a sense of being alone. It was staged so well, that I don’t have the right words to explain it to you. I guess this will work…
Best Fashion Show EVER!
There is a classic/vintage look in the designs in this fall’s line. Patterns on patterns and colors that are warm, yet bold.
Only Macy’s can make wearing glasses look cool.
Then my summer jam came on “Royals”. The line up of models with umbrellas during that song left me speechless.
Weekend MaxMara -
Glamorama 2013 Minneapolis is remarkable.
Cirque Du Soleil is a Must See!
I think all that twisting and turning would make me sick. Still really cool to watch.
This might be one of my favorite shots from the whole night -
Philosophy -
Beautiful.
I wouldn’t mind wearing any of these, but I would need to have a place to go beyond the campground!
The time came to wrap it all up with a little
Sheryl Crow on stage.
Love Her -
She has a new song about staycation called “Easy”. I liked it and it reminded me of my hubby, who most times makes life easier for me! (hi honey).
Sheryl Crow is super down to Earth and I wish I would have had the guts to talk to her more, but believe it or not I was shy!
After Party Photos!
My favorite talk radio hosts…

Thank you to Macy’s for inviting me to cover the Glamorama. It was truly wonderful and I had an unforgettable time.
